Introduction

Our approach allows overcome the problem of “Information System Interoperability”

Main components:

Description

Administrative and Semantic Cooperation

Ontology Description allows the formalization of a document model that includes concepts and relationships

Administrative and Semantic Cooperation

The Ontology is only part of a general infrastructure able to cover various aspects of the system:

Administrative Cooperation;

System scalability;

Knowledge access and Information sharing;

Administrative and Semantic Cooperation

Each PA can create its sub-definition of

“General PA Ontology” for its necessity

Administrative and Semantic Cooperation

An example of Semantic Cooperation is represented by using a cooperation of services

(via Web Services)

On-Line forms for standard Cooperation

Actually, the acquisition of online/offline data has to answer questions:

How are the forms visualized on different browsers?

How can a solution be implemented for data acquisitions that provides the same mechanism of validation on more different devices?

Intelligent Document

The PAs (Public Administrations) can take advantage of the use of “e-Document”, in particular:

decreasing of the cost of press, elaboration, distribution and delivery;

decreasing typing errors;

sharing and/or accessing to information;

Page 17: Administrative and semantic cooperation: The role of intelligent document

Intelligent Document

The end-user can take advantage:

decreasing time of manual compilation;

using electronic delivery of the document;

decreasing the delivery cost;

This analysis shows the necessity to create aworkflow management process thatcontemplates the fruition inside the applicativedomain.

Intelligent Document

The main features of an Intelligent Document are:

Multi Composed;

Multi Version;

Multi Dependence;

Multi Data Type;

Multi Platform;

CID (Cooperative Intelligent Document)

CID is a system that allows the interoperability among PAs

The CID features are:

involved government level;

data sharing;

data location;

data access;

Page 22: Administrative and semantic cooperation: The role of intelligent document

CID (Cooperative Intelligent Document)

The principal features are:

Point-To-Point Architecture, the participants reside on a same level of interaction and abstraction;

Orchestration, the interoperability between PAs is a significant part of the compilation process of Intelligent Document;

Interoperability, the sharing of a common ontology allows public administration to specialize part of the general PA Ontology;

Future Work

So far, we have considered a conceptual component model for Intelligent Document;

Actually, we are implementing follow components:

Ontology;

Security layer;

Management Component;

Data Repository;

Our next work will be the Ontology definition for Intelligent Document, where we’ll implement a model for ontology description and schema definition.
