DESCRIPTION

Richard Cooper - Charity Technology Trust @ 2009 Lasa Circuit Rider conference -- Microsoft, Cisco, Symantec and a number of other companies donate their technology to a wide range of charities in the UK. This session will look out how charities can access these donation programmes and some of their “quirks”. Richard is Development Manager for the CTX Programme which manages the Microsoft Software Donation Programme in the UK along with similar programmes from Cisco, Symantec and number of other technology companies.

Key Tips

• Register to find out which programmes a charity qualifies for– Reading the eligibility guidelines helps but the only definitive answer comes

through registration• The donors run separate programmes, they don’t all work the same way.

– Read the blurb on each programme you are interested before you start• Work out what you need from each donor over the next twelve months/two

years before you make a request– The donors are inflexible on the cycle

• Weigh up all the options– A charity that only wants one copy of Office [at the moment] may be better off

getting in through a Select programme provider• The definitive information for any product is on the donor’s website!• Fulfilment is direct from the donor, CTX don’t stock product so you should

factor this in to any planning
