The access violation at address error commonly occurs on computers that have the Windows Operating System installed when a software application attempts to access a protected memory address.
Other symptoms of the error include the computer becoming non-responsive during Windows Update scans, the Svchost.exe process throwing the error, or Windows Update scans taking an extremely long time to complete (hours).
