The current land was purchased in 1979.

The first field, 5.5 acres cost IR£28,000

The second purchase, Approx 4 acres

was purchased in 3 payments. April 1986 - IR£1,000 July 1986 – IR£10,000 12 Jan 1987 - IR£1,000

saw the final payment made.

A technical advisor was required to state that each of the tenders were

to the same specifications.

John Ryan – CIoncad Ltd. is the adviser -

who also worked on Hawkfield.

Grants Available.Through the Sports Capital

Programme, a provisional grant to cover 70% of the overall expenditure

on the development of a natural playing surface and floodlighting ONLY,

up to a total of €150,000.

Planning permission has also been granted for 2 astro turf pitches and

€300,000 lotto granted has been provisionally granted.

In order to avail of the granting, 75% of this work must be complete before

this expires in Nov 2011.Again, this is 70% of what total cost

would be.

fencing of the main pitch. This is still in the progress.
