Dawn is only just breaking. The door of the hut slams shut. Head torch on, skins adjusted under skis, ARVA switched on, ropes safely packed in the backpack. Everything is rea-dy. A last drip of tea escapes from a burning hot flask. In less than three hours, they will be at the summit. Their goal is clear. Making the first tracks. The first light of day slices through a breathtaking panorama. The pace has been steady since this morning, but as they approach the dizzyingly high and long ridge, their steps start to slow. They have time to observe, over there, on the right, gullies that appear almost familiar, skied before on many occasions, explored with painstaking care. There’s just one to go. A little apart from the others, majestic, with a line weaving down through the rocks. The snow conditions are ideal, a thin layer of powder is still in place thanks to the temperatures over the last few days, visibility is perfect, the gully is just waiting for the first tracks...

Then the slow ascent up to the start. Through the forest, there are a few glimpses of the Streif, the last big elevation that raises the right foot just before the final schuss. The CHROME series combines a level of performance close to race skis with more accessible carving capacity for technical skiers. It features a slight front rocker, allowing easier turn initiation and a more playful approach to the slope. The remainder of the ski consists of a traditional camber to create an explosion of power, stability and grip, for a feeling of complete safety while stepping up on-snow performance. The double wood core lightens the tip (Paulownia) and retains the power precisely where you need it (Poplar), without compromising between carving and speed.

Each new season ushers in its share of innovations. Dynastar is no exception to the rule with its new CHAM 25 hi-tech backpack. A new design and a new style for the 2014 winter season. Thanks to its 25-liter capacity, you will easily be able to carry all the equipment you need for freeriding or hiking. Its countless external pockets provide storage and easy access for your shovel, probe and ice ax, or even your goggles and camera. This intuitive hi-tech bag also features compression straps and can be used to carry skis. The ergonomic shoulder straps and the waist belt have been redesigned for even greater comfort, functionality and performance. The back of the bag has also been taken back to the drawing board to maximize ventilation and comfort, and make carrying even more effective.

Glossary

Moderate rocker at the tip only. For easier pivoting on flat skis with a smooth and forgiving feel in the turns. The rise is designed so that once the ski is on its edge, the ski works in the turn providing full-length edge contact.
