New Years Resolutions:

It’s that time of year again when we all make a New Year’s resolution (including the resolution to stick to this years’ resolution).

"The definition of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." — Albert Einstein

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for resolutions and goals but if you’ve already struggled for years on end to keep them, why not try a new approach?

Instead of a super-strict resolution to give up everything with chocolate, why not say that you can only have chocolate after exercise? Instead of saying “I won’t do [insert vice]” tell yourself “I will do [insert a better alternative].” Replacing a negative with a positive can have a profound effect on your results.

Another method that works well is making daily progress. Instead of setting an unrealistic goal of a physical workout everyday – just do a workout everyday, even if it’s only 5 minutes. Something is better than nothing and consistency counts for a lot.

Adult Programme - Punching Clinic:Focusing on your punch, this one hour clinic is an entire session dedicated to making you faster, stronger and technically better. In any martial art or walk of life, doing the basics right is half the battle. Regardless of your grade, experience or time training this session will undoubtedly improve your striking.

- Free to Black Belt & Leaderships students- £15 to Basic Programme Students- £30 to non-members

Please make sure to put your name down as pre-booking is essential.

Membership Cards:Lindsey has been working hard to make everyone (adults & kids) has membership card to track their training. They’re nearly all finished so watch the front desk. Before each lesson you can scan your card and start to count the hours you’ve racked up.

Recently I found my 2004 training diary with up to 30 hours training each and every week. It was a real motivator and something I’m going to monitor closely this year. Set yourself a target of … hours or … classes per week.

You’ll look good, be better and (more importantly) feel good.

New Adults Saturday Class:From the first Saturday of February we’ll be running a new Adult Basic class meaning you can now train 5 times a week (or fancy letting the better half go shopping or watch the football). The class is likely to start at 1.30pm or 2.00pm – we’ll confirm later this month – so listen out for updates.
