Page 3: Why Attend All the Services of the Church

THE PROBLEM OF LOW ATTENDANCE?

Dedication is lacking in some people. Mt. 6:33

Many are not taught the truth about this necessity.

Not present when taught.

Failure of church leadership/teachers.

Many do not listen to and apply when it is taught.

Some say, “Bible classes are not required.”

They are an assembling of “ourselves” together.

Failure to attend is sin if choose something else

before God. Ex. Family, Funerals, Entertainment Mt. 10:37; Mt 8:22; Lk. 9:23

MORE THAN ONE KIND OF ASSEMBLY

More than one kind of assembly is possible.

i.e. “forsake not the assembling of yourselves together”

Early church had them daily Acts 2:46

Various Assembly (meeting) Types:

Whole church gathered. 1 Cor. 11:20; 14:23

ATTEND TO OBEY GOD

It is a command of God.

Let us continue to hold firmly to the hope that we confess without wavering, for the one who

made the promise is faithful. And let us continue to consider how to motivate one

another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of

some, but encouraging one another even more as you see the day of the Lord coming

nearer.

Hebrews 10:23-26 ISV

ATTEND TO ABOUND IN THE LORD’S WORK

“Therefore, my dear brothers, be steadfast,

unmovable, always excelling (ABOUNDING)

in the work of the Lord, because you know

that the work that you do for the Lord isn't

wasted.”

1 Corinthians 15:58 ISV

ATTEND BECAUSE IT IS SAFE

My brothers and sisters, God called you and

chose you to be his. Do your best to live in a

way that shows you really are God's called

and chosen people. If you do all this, you will

never fall. 2 Peter 1:10 ERV

ATTEND TO PUT FIRST THINGS FIRST

God’s business must come first!

But let your first care be for his kingdom and

his righteousness; and all these other things

will be given to you in addition. BBE

What you should want most is God's kingdom

and doing what he wants you to do. Then he

will give you all these other things you need.

Matthew 6:33 ERV

ATTEND TO SET A GOOD EXAMPLE

In the same way, you should be a light for

other people. Live so that they will see the

good things you do and praise your Father in

heaven. Matthew 5:16 ERV

ATTEND TO PROVE YOUR LOVE

We have courage, and are well pleased rather

to be away from the home of the body, and to

be at home with the Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:8 YLT

Jesus said, “If ye love Me, keep My commandments” John 14:15 KJV

ATTEND BECAUSE GOD WANTS THE CHURCH TO GROW

But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into

him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: Ephesians 4:15

And so, dear friends, since you already know

these things, continually be on your guard not to

be carried away by the deception of lawless

people. Otherwise, you may fall from your

secure position. Instead, continue to grow in the

grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior

Jesus, the Messiah. Glory belongs to him both

now and on that eternal day! Amen.

2 Peter 3:17-18 ISV
