So know without a doubt that you will die by war, famine, and disease in the place you yearn to go and live. We must always be open to what God has to say and obey His wishes.

“It's dangerous to listen to God, He might not tell us what we want to hear"

A Special Message from Jeremy Ellington

Today we were treated to a special message from Jeremy Ellington, a missionary to India that we have supported for several years.

Jeremy challenged us that we must listen to what God has to say, even though it may not be what we want to hear.

Sometimes we hear but we don't really listen.

Sometimes we listen but we don't do what God asks. Sometimes we listen but we don't believe.

Jeremy cited an example from Jeremiah where the Israelites said they were open to God's wishes, but in the end were not willing to obey.

Jeremiah 42:19 - 22

You who survive from Judah, the LORD has told you: Don’t go to Egypt. Know without a doubt that I have warned you this day. You are putting your lives at risk by sending me to the LORD your God, saying, “Pray for us to the LORD our God; tell us everything the LORD our God says, and we’ll do it.” Today I have told you, but you still haven’t obeyed all that the LORD your God has sent me to tell you. So know without a doubt that you will die by war, famine, and disease in the place you yearn to go and live.

We must always be open to what God has to say and obey His wishes.
