Creation & Re-creation?Genesis 1:1 & Genesis 1:2:1) In the beginning God created the
heavens and the earth. 2) Now the earth was formless and
empty*, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
(* tohu va vohu = desolate, desert, wilderness, worthless thing)
Creation & Re-creation?Isaiah 45:18For this is what the LORD says—
he who created the heavens, he is God;…he did not create it to be empty*, but formed it to be inhabited—
(* tohu va vohu = desolate, desert, wilderness, worthless thing)
Creation & Re-creation?Is there a “gap” between Gen.
1:1 & 1:2??• Fall of Satan – (Lk. 10:18, Isa.
14:12-17, Ez. 28:12-19) = Pride in his beauty
• 1/3 of Angels fell w/ him (Rev. 12:3-4)
• War in heaven (Rev. 12:7-9)• “War is hell” (James 4:1-3)
Creation & Re-creation?

God’s 7 Promises to Abraham - Gen 12
God’s 7 Promises to Abraham - Gen 12
1.Make you a great nation
2.I will bless you
3.Make your name great
4.You will be a blessing
5. Bless those who bless you
6. Curse those who curse you
7. All people blessed through you
10 years later, with most of those promises still unfulfilled, Abraham says,
“Uh, God,….what’s up with all those big ole promises you gave me? Not to be ungrateful, but they really haven’t shown up yet…
How can I know it’s really going to happen?”(Genesis 15:8)
Genesis
God says, let’s “cut a covenant”.
Bring me a heifer, a goat and a ram, plus a dove and a young pigeon…a bloody sacrifice.
GenesisGod’s promises to us?
For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ [a bloody sacrifice].
And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God.
(2 Corinthians 1:20)
