MATTHEW 25:14-30

Matthew 25:21 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

OVERVIEW

One master has three servants and entrusts talents to them.

The masters leaves on a trip and the servants use their talents.

And returns to see what they have done with their talents.

1. WE WORK HARD

v16 The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more.

v17 So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more.

Hebrews 6:10God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.

2. GOD GAVE US WHAT WE NEED TO SERVE HIM

v14 “Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them.

3. OUR SITUATION IN LIFE IS NOT THE SAME

15 To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey.

4. WE WORK FOR GOD, NOT FOR OURSELVES

18 But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.

5. WE ARE ACCOUNTABLE

v19 “After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them.

Romans 14:12So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.

CONCLUSION

Loss of Reward v30 And throw that worthless servant

outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

Reward V21, 23 His master replied, ‘Well done, good

and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
