Part 1 - According to your faith ....

❖ Matthew 9:27-29

❖ And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us.

❖ And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord. Then touched he their eyes, saying,

❖ According to your faith be it unto you.

According to your faith ...❖ Your faith is your belief system

❖ This system helps to determine your behaviors

❖ One cannot receive what one does not believe

❖ Jesus asks a simple question; 'Do you believe that I am able to do what you ask'.

❖ Only you can answer that question for yourself. So according to your faith may you experience all the supernatural things that GOD has in store for you.

Mark 16:17 ...They shall speak with new tongues.

Why Tongues? Why doesn't every Christian believe this?

Are we wrong?

Is speaking in tongues really evidence?

Can a person be saved without speaking in tongues?

Are Charismatics in a cult?

❖ Joel 2: 28 - 29

❖ Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, [even] as many as the Lord our God shall call.

❖ The evidence of the promise? Speaking in Tongues

'Other Tongues'Acts 2: 1 - 4 ; and 38

❖ The Baptism of the Holy Spirit

❖ Acts 2:6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

❖ (Evidence) - A basis for belief, the grounds, means by which fact is proved or disproved.

❖ Note: If the tongues were only for reaching nationalities were only for 'preaching', then why did Peter 'preach' afterward?

'Unknown Tongues' 1 Cor. 14:1-6

❖ Notice that in this instance the church had matured to the point of assembly, yet people were still speaking in tongues. (About 20 years later)

❖ Here, it was an 'unknown' tongue. - (There is a difference).

❖ Paul's instruction was that this edifies the believer (personally), but can cause confusion if done in public and not in an orderly manner.

❖ Some call this 'prayer language'

❖ Romans 8:26 - 1 Thes. 5: 19;

Speaking in tongues.

The Edification of all that are present1 Cor. 14: 26 -39If you read this carefully you will notice that the Apostle is not writing to forbid people to speak in tongues as many in the church want you to believe. (Verse 39)

Paul says that in a church setting there should be an interpreter (if the purpose of the tongues is to edify everyone).
