Matthew 10:1-4 1 And he called to him his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every affliction. 2 The names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; 3 Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; 4 Simon the Zealot, and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him. Matthew 28:16-20 16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Establish Unity with Your Core Team (Philippians 1:27–28) – Paul is clear: stand firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel. 1 way you do this is to establish where you are unified. Churches unify theologically, relationally & philosophically. Discuss open & closed hand issues.

People Will Leave (John 6:58–66) – In John 6, many left Jesus AFTER being fed & shepherded. We are no exception. When people leave, it will hurt and that’s OK. Don’t pretend that you’re not hurt, but don’t let those who leave define you either. Remember, Christ will build HIS CHURCH (Matthew 16:8).

Get a mentor (1 Timothy 1:2, Philippians 2:22) – The Twelve had Jesus. Timothy had Paul. The bottom line is mentoring is biblical. Disciples are discipled in order to disciple. Pray for & seek strong people who can speak into your life biblically. Talk about life, finances, family, church, sex & hurt. Working through your “Daddy issues” with a mentor will help you tremendously so that you don’t turn ministry into a “See, I Made It” platform.

The Vision – Matthew 28:16-20 Make Disciples of whom?

All nations (Acts 17:26) – from 1 man, all were created

Go After Men (1 Timothy 6:11–16)

▪ This is literally the most fatherless generation ever. It is vital that you speak to men, encourage men, and give men a platform to use their gifts for the King. Nurture the men of your circle and train them to go after other men. Men will bring families to your church, and I love my sisters, but it’s vital that we don’t exploit women by having them do everything at the ministry. Get men—and get as many as you can.

Go After Your Wife (Ephesians 5)

▪ It’s easy to replace your wife with ministry. Allow her to honest with you about how she’s feeling and be intentional about dating her, love her, listening to her & romancing her.

Baptizing them Baptism is the formal entry of people into the church. People by nature want to belong. Bring them into the church family. Love on them. Remember, we’re

not chosen because we’re special; we’re special because He chose us (John 15:16)

Teaching them to observe all I have commanded To observe means to watch & imitate. Your greatest sermon is the one you live.

You will not do it alone You’re a Limited Leader. (Exodus 18:18). Embrace your limits & work your strengths.

God's work is never in vain 1 Corinthians 15:58, says 58 Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord

your labor is not in vain. This is for real life and ministry. God’s scoring system of success is so much sweeter than ours if we measure it by faithfulness to the character & heart of his goals & not sheer numbers or finances.
