RECONCILIATION: No longer enemies!
We live in a broken, divided world, because
sin separates.
Alienation•People from others
Isa. 59:21
God
Reconciliation(katalaso)
always implies two things:
A. A removal of that which caused the separation in the first place.
B. The restoration of a relationship to friendship.
Reconciliation in the Bible
The Big Story
In the beginning in Eden, God and man were in a close relationship.
When Adam and Eve sinned, they stepped away from their relationship with God.
God turned away from man.
Thousands of years later, God sent His Son to earth and turned back toward us again.
Christ came to reconcile the world back to God. He no longer is angry; He is no longer our enemy. (Romans 5:9)
We are still turned away from God. All that is left is for us to turn back to God and believe in Jesus and what He has done for us.
Now God has given YOU a ministry of reconciliation- as
God’s ambassadors, appealing to others to be reconciled to
God.
YOU are agents of the One True God!
