What are the LESSONS from this
parable?
LESSON 1:
Always Pray, Don’t Give Up
1 Then Jesus told
his disciples a
parable to show
them that they
should always
pray and not give
up
LESSON 1:
Always Pray, Don’t Give Up
Don’t give up? Not lose enthusiasm,
don’t be discouraged
Always pray? Constantly seeking the
Lord
“Mr. Graham started praying when he got
up this morning, he prayed while eating
breakfast, he prayed on the way over in the
car, and he'll probably be praying all the
way through the interview.”
LESSON 1:
Always Pray, Don’t Give Up
Don’t give up? Not lose enthusiasm,
don’t be discouraged
Always pray? Constantly seeking the
Lord
Answers to prayer? Yes, No or Wait!
“The most difficult discipline in the Christian life, in my opinion, is waiting. But God used that to force us to lean on Him….to trust Him….to believe in Him…. to release our will and accept His. Words fail to describe the pain of that transfer of wills. Finally, when we made the transfer, empty-handed and totally dependent, Cynthia and I leaned hard on our God.”
LESSON 1:
Always Pray, Don’t Give Up
Don’t give up? Not lose enthusiasm,
don’t be discouraged
Always pray? Constantly seeking the
Lord
Answers to prayer? Yes, No or Wait!
Why wait? Not ready? Timing?

Never stop praying? We pray until ……
Dr. Ray Pritchard
We’ve all wondered how long we should we
pray for something.
Here is the general rule I follow.
You should pray for something until …
• the answer comes, or
• the circumstances change, or
• God changes the burden on your heart
LESSON 2:
We are NOT like the Widow
Widow
Constant access to God (Eph 2:18; 3:12)
No right to speak God our Advocate & High
Priest (1 John 2:1; Heb 10:19-22)
Bother & nuisance Call unto Me (Jer 33:3)
Court of Law Throne of Grace (Heb 4:14-16)
Stranger Child of God (Luke 11:13;
John 1:12; 1 John 3:1-2)
Us
No access
LESSON 3:
God is NOT like the Judge
Unjust Righteous and Just (John 17:25)
No regard for man God is good
God loves us (Ps 100:5; Nahum 1:7)
Judge God
“There is a difference between a fleshly stubbornness and a godly perseverance. The former insists on getting one’s will done in heaven, and the latter determines to get God’s will done on earth”
Luke 18:1-8
