Saul spent several days withthe disciples in Damascus. 20 At once hebegan to preach in the synagogues thatJesus is the Son of God. 21 All those whoheard him were astonished and asked,"Isn't he the man who raised havoc inJerusalem among those who call on thisname? And hasn't he come here to takethem as prisoners to the chief priests?"

22 Yet Saul grew more and more powerfuland baffled the Jews living in Damascusby proving that Jesus is the Christ. 23 Aftermany days had gone by, the Jewsconspired to kill him, 24 but Saul learned oftheir plan. Day and night they kept closewatch on the city gates in order to kill him.25 But his followers took him by night andlowered him in a basket through anopening in the wall.

26 When he came to Jerusalem, hetried to join the disciples, but theywere all afraid of him, not believingthat he really was a disciple. 27 ButBarnabas took him and brought him tothe apostles. He told them how Saulon his journey had seen the Lord andthat the Lord had spoken to him, andhow in Damascus he had preachedfearlessly in the name of Jesus

28 So Saul stayed with them andmoved about freely in Jerusalem,speaking boldly in the name of theLord. 29 He talked and debated withthe Grecian Jews, but they tried to killhim. 30 When the brothers learned ofthis, they took him down to Caesareaand sent him off to Tarsus.

31 Then the church throughout Judea,Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time ofpeace. It was strengthened; andencouraged by the Holy Spirit, it grewin numbers, living in the fear of theLord.

1 Meanwhile, Saul was still breathingout murderous threats against theLord's disciples. He went to the highpriest 2 and asked him for letters tothe synagogues in Damascus, so that ifhe found any there who belonged tothe Way, whether men or women, hemight take them as prisoners toJerusalem.

3 As he neared Damascus on hisjourney, suddenly a light from heavenflashed around him. 4 He fell to theground and heard a voice say to him,"Saul, Saul, why do you persecuteme?" 5 "Who are you, Lord?" Saulasked. "I am Jesus, whom you arepersecuting," he replied. 6 "Now get upand go into the city, and you will betold what you must do.“

7 The men traveling with Saul stoodthere speechless; they heard thesound but did not see anyone. 8 Saulgot up from the ground, but when heopened his eyes he could see nothing.So they led him by the hand intoDamascus. 9 For three days he wasblind, and did not eat or drinkanything.

10 In Damascus there was a disciplenamed Ananias. The Lord called to himin a vision, "Ananias!" "Yes, Lord," heanswered. 11 The Lord told him, "Go tothe house of Judas on Straight Streetand ask for a man from Tarsus namedSaul, for he is praying. 12 In a vision hehas seen a man named Ananias comeand place his hands on him to restorehis sight."

13 "Lord," Ananias answered, "I haveheard many reports about this manand all the harm he has done to yoursaints in Jerusalem. 14 And he hascome here with authority from thechief priests to arrest all who call onyour name." 15 But the Lord said toAnanias, "Go! This man is my choseninstrument to carry my name beforethe Gentiles and their kings and beforethe people of Israel.

16 I will show him how much he mustsuffer for my name." 17 Then Ananiaswent to the house and entered it.Placing his hands on Saul, he said,"Brother Saul, the Lord--Jesus, whoappeared to you on the road as youwere coming here--has sent me so thatyou may see again and be filled withthe Holy Spirit."

18 Immediately, something like scalesfell from Saul's eyes, and he could seeagain. He got up and was baptized, 19

and after taking some food, heregained his strength. Saul spentseveral days with the disciples inDamascus.

What do you think about Jesus?”“Is He your Lord in charge of your life?Do you live for Him or listen to Him?”

How about you? For those of you whoare non-Christians, what’s your view ofJesus? For those of you who areChristians, how has your view of Jesuschanged since becoming a Christian?

Well, Saul thought that Jesus was ablasphemer, a godless man who was sayinghe was the God-man. He thought that Jesuswas perhaps the most ungodly person whohad ever lived, and he hated Christ, and hehated Christians who worshiped Jesus as God.And then his view of Jesus changed.

The important thing with titles issometimes the titles in the Bible aredifferent than the titles that we use, sowe can sort of miss the significance ofthe titles. But the titles are veryimportant because poured into them isa lot of meaning—a lot of meaning.These two titles are very significant.

He is the SON OF GOD

Saul comes along, and he hates Christ because he said he was God, and he hates Christians because they worship him as God, and then he meets Jesus Christ, he becomes a Christian,

and he proclaims that Jesus is the son of God.

He says that Jesus is the CHRIST.

• Anointed One. • Messiah. • Holy Spirit resides on and works

through this person in a supernatural, miraculous, inexplicable way, and that there are people who are anointed.

If you’re not a Christian, you need toknow that’s why they crucified him.Not because he fed people, notbecause he petted lambs, not becausehe hung out with children, they killedhim because he said he was God, andthat’s either true or false. Non-Christian, who do you think that Jesusis? If you are a Christian or youbecome a Christian, who you thinkJesus is has to change. Has to change.It has to change.

• Persecutor of Christians.

• Assassinated Christians.

• Not a believer and did not have faith in Jesus.

• Only thought of how to destroy Christianity.

• Faithful witness.• Dedicated his life

for the ministry.• One of the

bravest and deeply rooted Christians.

• Bible author with the most number of books written.

Saul (Paul)

Has your understanding of Jesus changed? Would you now say, “He

is the Son of God and he is the Christ,” or would you say, “He is a blasphemer”? Truly, those are the only two categories that we have.

Saul’s view of Jesus has radically changed because he would have said previously, “Blasphemer,” and

now he says, “Lord.”

Saul has been converted.

He started to proclaim histestimony.

Talked about who Jesus is andwhat Jesus has done in his life.

Now is the time for prayer, talkingto the Lord, listening to the Lord.

Now is the time for study andreflection. For journaling,processing, considering.

Now is the time for repenting, andsinging, and worshiping, andspending time with God.

Jesus is alive and he’s very glad tomeet with you

He’ll never leave you, he’ll neverforsake you.

He’ll be with you always to theend of the age.

Part of being a Christian is suffering.

WHY?

God himself sacrificed His only Son so that we

may be saved.

It was the Son’s life that was given, so that we may have eternal life.

Believers devoted their lives in sharing their faith, that we are now able to know

about God and continue to share the faith

Suffering provides an opportunity

for a witness, to be a testimony.

It is an opportunity that lets us get to know the

our Lord Jesusmore and more.

An opportunity to become

more Christlike

It gives us the opportunity to declare and testify for Christ
