ਤੂ ਤਾ ਜਖਨਿ ਰਾਜਾ ਅਉਤਾਰੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਸੰਸਾਖਰ ਸਾਰੁ ਰਿਖਿ ਜਗਤਰ ਜਿ ਪਦਮ ਬੀਿਾਰ ॥You are the incarnation of King Janak; the contemplation of Your Shabad is sublime throughout the universe. You abide in the world like the lotus on the water. 1391

ਜਨਿੁ ਸੋਇ ਖਜਖਨ ਜਾਖਿਆ ਉਨਮਖਨ ਰਥੁ ਧਖਰਆ ॥He alone is enlightened like Janaka, who links the chariot of his mind to the state of ecstatic realization. 1398

ਜਾਤ ਨਜਾਖਤ ਦੇਖਿ ਮਤ ਭਰਮਿੁ ਸੁਿ ਜਨਿ ਪਗੀਂ ਿਖਗ ਖਧਆਵੈਗੋ ॥ ਜਠੂਨ ਜੂਖਠ ਪਈ ਖਸਰ ਊਪਖਰ ਖਿਨੁ ਮਨੂਆ ਖਤਿੁ ਨ ਡੁਿਾਵੈਗੋ ॥੭॥ Do not be fooled by appearances of high and low social class. Suk Dayv bowed at the feet of Janak, and meditated. Even though Janak threw his leftovers and garbage on Suk Dayv's head, his mind did not waver, even for an instant. ||7||

ਜਨਿ ਜਨਿ ਬੈਠੇ ਖਸੰਘਾਸਖਨ ਨਉ ਮੁਨੀ ਧੂਖਰ ਿੈ ਿਾਵੈਗੋ ॥ ਨਾਨਿ ਖਿਰਪਾ ਖਿਰਪਾ ਿਖਰ ਠਾਿੁਰ ਮੈ ਦਾਸਖਨ ਦਾਸ ਿਰਾਵੈਗੋ ॥੮॥੨॥

Janak sat upon his regal throne, and applied the dust of the nine sages to his forehead. Please shower Nanak with your Mercy, O my Lord and Master; make him the slave of Your slaves. ||8||2|| 1309

ਜਖਪਓ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਿ ਜਨਿ ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੀ ਿਖਰ ਿਖਰਸਰਖਿ ਪਰੇ ॥Suk-deva and Janak meditated on the Naam; following the Guru's Teachings, they sought the Sanctuary of the Lord, Har, Har. 995

ਿਿੁ ਨਾਨਿ ਖਮਖਿ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਖਤ ਤੇ ਮਗਨ ਭਏ ਖਿਵਿਾਈ ॥Says Nanak, joining the Society of the Saints, I am enraptured, lovingly attuned to my Lord. 1214

ਗੁਰ ਿੀ ਬਾਿੀ ਸਬਖਦ ਪਛਾਤੀ ਸਾਖਿ ਰਿੇ ਖਿਵ ਿਾਏ Through the Word of the Guru's Bani, they come to understand the Shabad. They remain lovingly focused on the True Lord. 1155

ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਿੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੰਗਰਿੈ ਨਾਮੇ ਖਿਵ ਿਾਵਉ ॥I hear the Naam, and I gather in the Naam; I am lovingly attuned to the Naam 318

ਸਿਜ ਧੁਖਨ ਉਪਜੈ ਿਖਰ ਖਿਵ ਿਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਿਾਉ ॥The celestial music wells up, when they lovingly attune their consciousness to the Lord. 231

ਤਾ ਜਖਗ ਆਇਆ ਜਾਿੀਐ ਸਾਿੈ ਖਿਵ ਿਾਏ ॥One's coming into the world is judged worthwhile only if one lovingly attunes oneself to the True Lord. 421

ਅਖਧਿ ਬਿਉ ਤੇਰੀ ਖਿਵ ਰਿੀਆ ॥If I talk too much, I miss out on Your Love. 1330
