With the 70 Year captivity over, Gabriel tells Daniel . . .

Daniel 9:24­27 “Seventy weeks (~yo[i’b.vi ~y[‘buv, actually seventysevens) are determined upon THY PEOPLE and upon THY HOLY CITY, 

The addressees are stated! This prophecy was written while the Jews were captive in Babylon. It is in the Old Testament,

in Hebrew, so who do you suppose it is about? It’s about the Jews and their Holy City, 

It is not to or about the Church.

 “. . . to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and tomake  reconciliation  for  iniquity,  and  to  bring  in  everlastingrighteousness,  and  to  seal up  the vision and prophecy, and  toanoint the most Holy.” (All fulfilled by the time of the Cross)

Daniel 9:24‐27 Continued . . .

“Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth ofthe commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem (Artaxerxes decree, 444­445 B.C.) unto the Messiah the Prince shall be sevenweeks  (~y[‘buv,  shavuim,  the male plural  form of  seven  so  these“weeks” require a multiplier. These are not sevens of ordinary 24hour days), and threescore and two weeks (~y[‘buv, shavuim): thestreet shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times(fulfilled in Neh 2:8). And after threescore and two weeks (~y[‘buv,shavuim) shall Messiah be cut off (i.e., killed), but not for himself:and  the  people  of  the  (satanic)  prince  that  shall  come  shalldestroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall bewith a flood (of foreign people, Rev 17:15), and unto the end of thewar (between God and Satan) desolations are determined.” 

Daniel 9:24‐27 Continued . . .

“And  he  (the  above  satanic  prince,  possibly  Satan)  shallconfirm the covenant with many (Jewish people) for oneweek ([;Wb]v\ shavua, a different word, the singular form ofseven, so this week is not the same as the prior 69): and inthe midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and theoblation  to  cease,  and  for  the  overspreading  ofabominations  he  shall  make  it  desolate  (make  whatdesolate?),  even  until  the  consummation,  and  thatdetermined shall be poured upon the desolate.” 

The Hebrew Word Form for Seven is Important

The  Hebrew  word  for  seven  used  for  the  69  weeks  is(~y[‘buv, shavuim) which is different than the word used forthe 70th week ([;Wb]v \, shavua) so the 70th week is . . .

different in kind than the 69!

If the same word had been used, then each “day” of the 70thweek would also be a year, but since the word is different,the 70th week must be viewed in a different way. The 70thweek must be describing a time other than seven years! 

But how long a time?

Lets look at a literal translation of Daniel 9:27

Daniel 9:26­27 (Green’s Interlinear) “And its end with the flood(of  foreign people, Rev 17:15) and until end war are deter‐mined desolations and he shall confirm a covenant withthe many week ([;Wb]v, shavua**) one and in the half of theweek he shall make cease sacrifice and offering and upona wing abominations (~’ciWQv i, shiqquts) a desolator (~m,vom,

shaw­mam)  even  until  end  and  that which was  decreedshall pour out on the desolator.”

** The Hebrew word for seven used in this verse, [;Wb]v, shavua, is different  than the ~y[‘buv, shavuim of the prior 69 weeks (and 69 carrots are not the same as oneonion). In like manner, the 70th week is different in kind! Since each day of the 69weeks represented a year, then each day of 70th week cannot be a year, but must beeither seven literal 24 hour days or symbolize a much longer period of time.

Translators of the NIV got it Right!

Daniel 9:26­27 (NIV) “.  .  . and its end will come with aflood; even to the end there will be war; desolationsare determined. But he will confirm a covenant withmany for one seven, but in the middle of that seven,he will put an end to sacrifice and offering, and onewho causes desolations will place abominations on awing of the temple, until  the end that  is decreed ispoured out on him.

“In the middle of thatseven, he will put an endto sacrifice and offering,and one who causesdesolations will placeabominations on a wingof the temple,”Daniel 9:27, NIV

Look where the Dome of theRock is: “on a wing of thetemple” in the Court of theGentiles!

Here is Daniel 12:11 Again

Daniel 12:11 “And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, andthe abomination  that maketh desolate  set up,  there shall be a  thousand  twohundred and ninety days.”

We already know this abomination to be the Dome of the Rock!

SHIQQOTS HA SHAMEN

1.  The Hebrew word translated “abomination” is ~’ciWQvshiqquts (Strong’s No. 8251) 

2.  The Hebrew word translated “desolation” is ~m,vom ,shaw­mam (Strong’s No. 8074).  

3. In Dan 12:11 we find the Abomination that makethDesolate is “Shiqquts ha Shaw­mam.”  

4. Since “shiqquts and shaw­mam” also appears in the 70th Week, then this week, should also be

about the Dome of the Rock!

Daniel’s 70th Week stretches into the past and futurefrom the construction of the Dome in 688AD.

Once we  recognize  that  Daniel’s  70th week  is  actuallyabout the Dome of the Rock, all support for a future Seven­Year Tribulation goes up in smoke, because Daniel 9:27 isthe ONLY verse in the whole Bible from which that ideacould have been concocted. The identification of the Domeof the Rock as the Abomination that maketh Desolate isconfirmed by the day‐years of Rev 11:2‐3, 12:6, and 13:5.The historic date of its construction is accepted by all, andthe mathematics is irrefutable.

Since the 70th Week doesn’t appear to be aboutJohn Darby’s Seven­Year ­Great­Tribulation invention,

what can it really be about?

We must stand in Daniel’s shoes andview this prophecy from his perspective!

Daniel, a godly Jew, was immersed in the Law of Moses. He fully understood the Levitical Code!

THE LEVITICAL CODE

1st:  One seven of years.2nd:  Followed by six more sevens of years.

3rd: A final unique Jubilee year with 360 Sabbaths.

DANIEL’S 70 WEEKS

1st:  Seven sevens of weeks, 7 Shavuim.2nd: Followed by 62 more sevens of weeks, 62 Shavuim.

3rd: A final unique week, a Shavua.

1.  The numerical progression in the Levitical Codeand the Seventy Weeks is the same. 

2.  One seven, a multiple of sevens, with a uniquetime at the end. 

3.  The Levitical Code, had a 50 year cycle ending with ayear of the Jubilee, which had 360 Sabbaths.  

4. The 70 Week prophecy ends with a unique seven,each year of which would also 

have 360 Sabbaths!

So should this last unique “shavua”be multiplied by 360?

Daniel’s 70th Week

Since contextual weeks require multipliers and a Jubilee yearhas 360 Sabbaths, could the multiplier for the 70th Week be 360?

If so, 360 x 7 = 2520 prophetic years or 2484 Solar years.

So Lets Read that Verse Again

Daniel 9:27 (NIV) “But he (a satanic prince) will confirm acovenant with many (Jewish people) for one seven (2520prophetic, i.e., 2484 solar years), but in the middle of that(jubilee) seven, he will put an end to sacrifice and offering(by making the temple mount spiritually desolate), and onewho causes desolations (the satanic spirit behind Islam)will place abominations  (the Dome of the Rock) on a wingof the temple, until the end that is decreed is poured outon him.”

Now doesn’t that fit Scriptureand recorded history a whole lot better?
