A Note from Fr.Vince

Happy New Year! It is fitting that we begin this New Year with the beautiful Feast of Mary, the Mother of

God. We reflect on one of her most outstanding characteristics: her willingness to know and to do

God’s will. In our busy lives, we often overlook the need to reflect on God’s plan for us. Let us resolve to imitate Mary who “kept all these things, reflecting on

them in her heart.” See the bulletin online at www.sanluisreyparish.org for

Fr. Vince’s complete New Year’s message.

From Today’s Gospel

The shepherds went in haste to Bethlehem and found Mary and Joseph, and the infant lying in the manger. When they saw this, they made known the message

that had been told them about this child. All who heard it were amazed by what had been told

them by the shepherds. And Mary kept all these things, reflecting on them in her heart.

Franciscan School of Theology FST is a Roman Catholic graduate

theological school, owned and operated by the Province of Saint Barbara of the Order of Friars Minor. FST students and alumni

provide for the poor; promote social justice; care for the suffering in homes and

hospitals; console the dying; provide comfort to the neglected in community

centers; teach and celebrate the sacraments in our parishes. They are – in

the spirit of Clare and Francis of Assisi – Christian witnesses in the world.
