Summary Gathering Blue by Lois Lowry places you back in the old days. First of all, Kira’s mom died. So, where Kira was living got burned down. Then, she went to the Council of Edifice and they gave her an opportunity to stitch back the singers robe. The next day, she went to learn how to dye threads so she can do the singers robe. In the end, Kira and Thomas went to go look for Matt but he was out looking for a gift to give Kira.
