John 1:6-7

There came a man who was sent from God; his name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all men might believe.

John 1:23-25

John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, ‘I am the voice of one calling in the desert, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord.’ Now some Pharisees who had been sent questioned him, ‘Why then do you baptize if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?’

‘I baptize with water,’ John replied, ‘but among you stands one you do not know. He is the one who comes after me, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie.’ This all happened at Bethany on the other side of the Jordan, where John was baptizing.

Almighty God came in a package labeled FRAGILE: a baby boy named Jesus…

He is worth more than the adoration of our lips; He is worthy of the giving of our LIVES

Know WHO you are and WHO you aren’t

John STARTS with who he isn’t.

John starts with who he isn’t, but doesn’t ENDthere

Only when we are SECURE in who God created us to be will we no longer be influenced more by the opinions of people.

Now that we are clear that God is God and we are not, we are able to bear WITNESS

God chose to INTRODUCE Jesus to the world through people.
