I. GOD LOVES US "beloved of God..."Vs 13.

A. God loved us while we were yet sinners Romans 5:8

Deut 7:7-8The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:But because the LORD loved you, (KJV)

B. God's love motivated Him to send Christ for our sins.I John 4:10Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. (KJV)

C. It is God's love for us that causes us to love HimI Jn 4:19We love him, because he first loved us. (KJV)




II. GOD CHOSE US."God hath from the beginning chosen you..."Vs 13

A. Every saved soul faces the fact that God has chosen them to be saved.

B. That plan was established before the foundation of the worldEphesians 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: (KJV)




III. GOD SET US APART."Through sanctification..."Vs 13

A. He sets us apart through the work of the Holy Spirit.

Every soul who asks for salvation has invariably been drawn to ask for it through circumstances where God prepares him.

B. Once we are saved, we are set apart from the world.

• A saved person is different than an unsaved person in God's eyes

• We are in a different world than the rest of the world. And

• Once we begin to live according to the Word of God, we are different than the rest of the world in the eyes of the world too.




IV. GOD CALLED US"Whereunto He called you by our gospel..."vs 14

God uses the preaching of His Word to save them that believe1 Corinthians 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. (KJV)

The Word call implies a voice. The voice that God uses to call souls to salvation is the voice of a man crying out the gospel.

We ought to give to missions to win soulsWe ought to invite friends to church to win their soulsWe ought to witness to neighbors to win souls




V. HE GIVES US GLORY"to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ..."Vs 14

Matt 25:21His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. (KJV)





John 14:2In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. (KJV)





Rom 8:17And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. (KJV)





Eph 1:18The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, (KJV)
