HA Options / Official ‘Levels’

I’m not too keen on these definitions!

HA Options in Practice

Do you really need RAC for EM repository?

Data Guard recommended

VMware user? ◦ Consider a nice ‘all in one’ EM VM – up to mid-size

◦ It just works…

◦ vMotion, DRS & SRM has implications for licensing

Licensing

EM is primarily paid for via Packs on target nodes ◦ E.g. EM WebLogic Pack, EM SOA Pack

Anything other than single instance EM repo database needs extra licences: ◦ RAC (EE included, all nodes need RAC option though) ◦ Data Guard (EE needed for standby, optionally RAC too) ◦ OMS (i.e. OHS & WLS) doesn’t need a licence as long as only

used for EM
