One of the things that are becoming very clear about Windows 10 is the fact that the program could have done a few more trial runs. It took them only 9 months between the announcement and launch. That haste has led to some issues, which are affecting users across the globe.

Here is a rundown of some of the bugs that you can anticipate with this program:

Unresponsive Start Button

For some reason, when you drag items to the start button, nothing happens. This is very strange, because one would expect that you would be offered the opportunity to pin to the start menu.

Once you release the button, the icon disappears and you are back to square one.

Finger touches do not enlarge start menu

It seems that even with the latest upgrades, you cannot enlarge the start menu using your finger like before. Previously, the start menu was both a keyboard and mouse when working with touchscreen technology; We do not seem to have access to Window styles. In effect, you definitely need a mouse to perform this function.

Sentence Spaces are disappearing

Another problem is that you cannot add two spaces after a sentence using the styles format like before. The same problem seems to occur with smartphone users.

No option to play sound as I type

This used to be such a great feature for onscreen keyboards, but now it is no longer available. Perhaps they wanted to simplify the screen in general, but the final effect is one that is not easy to work with.

You cannot set up a guest account

Windows 10 seems not to allow us to set up a guest account. That means that we cannot delineate multiple users particularly in a home. This raises the question of privacy and sharing. They have turned it off by default, but you can reactivate it by typing the string “lusrmgr.msc” in the search box. Follow the prompts on the screen that come up.

You cannot assign access

Previously, you could run the computer almost like a kiosk where there are separate programs that are accessible to users. It worked well for those that suffer from sausage fingers and those who were not particularly well versed with the intricacies of modern technology. Now that access does not seem to be available.

No option for password reset disc

If you happen to lose your password, you have to go through a tedious process of reactivating the account instead of merely using the “create password reset disk” tool. In effect, this means that if you lose your password then you run the risk of also losing a lot of information in the process of recovery.

There are lots more issues that crop up as you try to use Windows 10. What is very clear is that the program is far from perfect, but Microsoft says that they will be doing regular upgrades to get rid of these teething problems.
