We want ETB 1, ETB 3, “Euskadi” and “Gaztea” in Navarre! The Basque language is native to Navarre, as recognised by law. However a number of technical and legal barriers prevent the reception of Basque Language Media in Navarre. Those Basque Language Media are broadcast from neighbouring Basque Autonomous Community. These are the main examples: -ETB 1: Is only available on Analogue TV -ETB 3 (children's TV): Isn't available on either Digital or Analogue

The Basque language is native to Navarre, as recognised by law. However a number of technical and legal barriers prevent the reception of Basque Language Media in Navarre. Those Basque Language Media are broadcast from neighbouring Basque Autonomous Community.

These are the main examples:

Spain has signed the European Charter for Regional or Minority language, but article 11.2 is not being fulfilled in Navarre:

“The Parties undertake to guarantee freedom of direct reception of radio and television broadcasts from neighbouring countries in a language used in identical or similar form to a regional or minority language, and not to oppose the retransmission of radio and television broadcasts from neighbouring countries in such a language.”

In 2012, the EA political party installed an antenna so that ETB1 could be received in Pamplona and its surrounding areas, but the Government of Navarre reported them to the Spanish government. The antenna was withdrawn and EA was fined €45,000 - approximately £38,000.
