Male representations:The male gander within thriller productions are often represented as the main protagonist and are frequently depicted as dominant within the movie production. This dominance is mostly portrayed though strength and physical stamina as seen through long fight and chase scenes between the males and the antagonists.

Female representations:Females in the thriller genre often are represented using the conventional stereotype that they are vulnerable and unable to rely on themselves for safety and protection. Narratives often feature a female character in a vulnerable situation or in distress therefore requiring another to help or save her. However contrasting to this often movies try to oppose the presentation by featuring an independent strong female character house this is not as frequently depicted in the genre

Child representation:Children through out the thriller genre are represented stereotypically in two alternate ways, firstly children are often represented as innocent and vulnerable within stressful and dangerous situations and are often specifically kidnapped or used as leverage due to emotional ties with key characters. Contrasting to this children can also alternatively be conveyed as disturbing and creepy in more horror influenced thrillers as the use of children often disjoins and scares the consumers
