How to increase your Twitter
Engagement
When you log onto twitter you are always expecting
a flurry of notifications, retweets, responses and
favorites to your tweets but are disappointed when
these things are absent. The major reason behind
the absence of engagement is your lack of
engagement. Whether you are a celebrity, a
personality, or just a common Joe, you can always
increase your online presence through Twitter by
putting just a little bit of effort. Let’s learn a few tips
that might help you in increasing your twitter
engagement for good.
1. Keep it Short-er:
Twitter offers you an already meager 140 character
limit and in that limit you have to further restrict
yourself. People go on Twitter to read short, precise
and informative or sometimes funny little messages
that keep their attentions engaged. In a site where
the maximum limit is 140 characters, people would
only look for and read Tweets that look shorter than
the maximum. So keep it short, keep it simple and
keep it engaging.
2. A Picture Speaks a Thousand
Words:
Making a tweet which is less than 140 characters
and is interesting that cannot be a difficult task. To
overcome this restriction, you can always post or
share a picture! Say for example you want to tweet
something cute your dog did. You could say, “Oh my
god, my dog did the cutest thing ever!” and then
describe that cute thing in 140 characters- or you
could post a picture. Statistics show that more
people will view Tweets that have pictures with
them rather than normal text tweets. So, post
pictures and gather followers! You can use twitter
automation tools to schedule the tweets.
3. Hashtags are your best friends:
Hashtags are your way to go to find out what is
trending in the world around you. People will actively
seek out news and information on trending topics
and furthermore will look for what opinions people
have to offer about them. This is where you and your
twitter account step in. Look for a topic that
interests you, and then post a tweet about it with the
relevant hashtag. You could also post hashtags in
your normal tweets that garners the attention of
strangers, gains your followers and ultimately
increases your account’s engagement.
4. Tell Us Who you are:
Your Twitter Bio data is the first thing a potential
follower will read. The prospect of you gaining
followers and appealing to someone all depends on
how precise and interesting your bio data is. Refrain
from using generic, boring and overused punch lines
in your Bio data like “Cat lover” or something similar.
Give a summary of yourself in that small Bio Data
box, make it interesting and watch how you slowly
have a more active and engaging presence in the
Twitter world.
With all this said, the only thing you need to do is to
be a regular poster. Keep in mind all these tips and
be sure to make use of them whenever you log onto
twitter next time. For sure, your next time will be a
more positive, fun filled and as expected, a highly
engaging twitter experience.
