Why You Should Use Facebook for your Avon Business

• Facebook is a good way to boost your marketing of your Avon business. It is still one of the top social media sites, and it can help drive your sales if you set up your Facebook Business Page correctly.

• With live streaming videos now on this social media site, people are once again interacting on a higher level than before.  Use your YouTube brochure videos to entice visitors to shop in your eStore.

• Use Facebook to drive new customers to shop now in your store.

• Use Facebook to post the latest sales and deals from the weekly Avon Representative Newsletter. You can write your posts ahead of time and drip them on the start date of the sale or deal.

• Use Facebook to generate interest in your business by hosting giveaways.

Step OneSign Up for a Facebook Business Page

Sign up to have a SEPARATE Facebook page for your business.  It will be a page you manage separately from your personal FB page.

1. Sign in to your personal Facebook page.

2. On the top, right-hand side of your FB select “Create Page” from the drop-down menu.

3. Click on the square that says “Local Business or Place”. Do not select “Brand or Product” – this is intended for Avon HQ, not independent representatives.

4. Choose either “Local Business” or “Spa/Beauty/Personal Care”. Either of these will work for your Avon business.

5. Your “Business or Place Name” is Avon Representative [YOUR NAME HERE].

6. Fill in your address information and click “Get Started”.

Step TwoAdd Your Header Image and Personal Headshot Photo

Adding your header image and personal headshot photo images are the same for your personal page. Simply click on the white camera icon in those areas and upload your images.

Use an Avon branded header (they can be found in your "Social Media Center" of your Avon account under “Essentials”.  You may also create your own header with Avon images that you like.  Try PicMonkey.com or Canva.com to create your own Facebook header if you're feeling creative! Don’t leave it blank or it will look like you’re not open for business.

If you don’t already have one, have a friend take a nice headshot photo of you to use on your Facebook page. Don’t use a duck-face selfie- you want to project the image of a business person who is professional and can interact with people of all ages.

Don’t use an avatar for your personal photo. While using an Avon icon is tempting, it doesn’t have the same impact as a personal photo. Local individuals will be able to find your Avon business if they do a search. Personal photos make you more approachable, and more likely to get business from your local customers.

Step ThreeSet Up Your ‘Shop Now’ Button

An important, but sometimes forgotten, way to drive traffic to your Avon eStore is the use of a Shop Now button. This button is located below your header image on the right-hand side of the page.

1. Place your cursor over this blank button and click on “Edit Button” from the drop-down menu.

2. On the pop-up screen, choose “Shop Now” from the drop-down list.

3. Add your Avon eStore Website URL in the website field.

4. Leave the “Link to an App” as ‘No’.

5. Click ‘Save Changes’.

6. Now click on the “Shop Now” button you have just created to make sure it is directing traffic to your eStore.

Step FiveInvite your Friends to Like Your New Page

One of the easiest ways to get people to like your page and get the ball rolling is to invite your Facebook friends to like your new Facebook business page.

Under your Facebook header are several tabs. One of the tabs is “More”

Click on “More” and search the list for “Invite Friends”

Click on “Invite Friends”

In the pop-up screen, click on the “Invite” button for everyone you would like to send an invite to.

That’s the first step to letting people know that you’re open for business on Facebook!

Step SixPin Relevant Posts to the Top of Your Page

Pinning posts to the top of your Facebook page is a great way to let visitors know about something important – like a sale, promotion, giveaway or simply to tell them that you’re on vacation for a specified period of time.

To pin a post:

1. Choose a post

2. In the upper right corner of each post is a small arrow pointing down – click on it

3. Choose “Pin to Top”

4. Your post will now have a small blue thumbtack on the upper right-hand corner of the post, and it will appear at the top of your feed until you unpin it.

To unpin a post select “Unpin from Top” from the drop down menu in the upper right hand corner of the post.
