A content curation platform that rocks!

In the online age of "Content is King" having reliable sources of captivating information to share with our onlineaudience is something of immense value. Whether it's your favourite weekly blog, an infographic that you just addedto your website or handy tips on social media marketing that you'd like to share with the world, there are toolsavailable to help one process all of the vast amounts of content on the web (including your own) and organize it neatlyin a single place for you to access and share (with the ultimate goal of getting more visibility online). Getting started on Scoop.it

Head on over to Scoop.it where you can choose to sign in with either your Facebook, Twitter or email account.

Once you have signed in the next step is to identify the topic area of interest to you. By simply entering a few wordsrelated to your topic of interest (online marketing in my case) Scoop.it sifts through all the search engines andconnects to various social media networks and RSS feeds to present you with relevant information to curate.

Time to start "Scooping"

Now that you have all the useful, multimedia rich content at your fingertips it is time to share it, or in this case "scoop"it.

This is a shot of my account's content feed. There are 2 ways that users can "scoop" content. You can either opt tosearch through your feed and move your mouse over the Scoop.it icon to share it, or you can manually enter/paste alink into the bar at the top left hand side of the page. One can also create their own topics by selecting the create atopic icon at the bottom right hand corner of the page as seen below. This is useful if you have more than one topicarea that you want to curate content for.

Once you have performed the "scoop" you have the option of choosing what created topic to add it to and editingthings like the title of the content, its explanation, changing the image used and even adding your own insights.

Getting social with Scoop.it

Another great thing about Scoop.it is that it can be connected to your social accounts to share content on otherplatforms for maximum visibility! The free account allows up to 2 social platforms to be connected to one's scoop.itaccount.

Users can schedule suitable posting times and add tags before hitting publish to help increasethe chances of being found!
