Our print vs. Professional printOn the right our version of the print advert advertised for Channel 4 and on the left is a print ad professionally done by Channel 4

Logo

• On our print ad we’ve placed the Channel 4 logo on the right hand side in the top right hand corner. In professionally made print ads they have placed it on the right hand side but centred in the middle.

• However we also increased the size of the logo because we felt it was too small on the page and would look better at a bigger size.

Lighting and effects• For our print ad we used

lighting in the foreground to emphasise the food and the hands while the background is dimly lit to show that that part of the image is unimportant. We also removed the students face from the ID badge so that the hands could technically represent anyone and not just a single person.

Slogan•Along with our title

‘Food for Thought’ we have the slogan ‘The Food Revolution’. This slogan also ties in with our details on when it will be airing, similar to how the professional one does as well.

Main Image• The main image of our print ad

is a dinner lady placing food onto a plate, this connotes the theme of our documentary we filmed and edited.

• By not showing the face of the student or the face of the dinner lady it can be used to relate the image o any school around the country.

• In both the professional image and our print ad there is one key main image. These images are generally aligned in the centre of the print ad.

Text• On our print ad we positioned

the text in the bottom left hand corner on two lines similar to the professionally made print ad.

• We have put the channel name, the day and the time on the image so the audience will know where to find the documentary.

• We have used a font similar to the Channel 4’s print ad text as we couldn’t actually get ‘C4’ so we used Trebuchet MS instead.

• We placed the scheduling in this specific order as it is how professional print ads do it, and they know the day first so it will stay in their mind.
