To be completely honest, I didn’t have a clue what to expect when meeting Maya, but as she

walkedthrough the door dressed immaculate from head to toe, I met nothing less than a down-to-

earth, embracing young woman… I am pleased to say.At just 19 years of age Maya Rossi has just

recently come to stardom with her single ‘It’s about now’ and already smashed the US charts with a

number 1 within 2 weeks of its release! The American blonde beauty and I sat chatting with a

coffeeabout her past, present and her very bright future for almost two hours, and I must say it was

apleasure. So far, her secret to success has very much been a secret, so I thought I’d dive deep

andask her exactly how she went from the unknown to the known so quickly. “I just never gave up.

My whole life has focused purely on music and to be honest, there hasn’t been room for much else. I

dida few small gigs on my own; the biggest turn out being 70 [laughs] not the largest of crowds.

Iactually got spotted in the end on YouTube by the person who found Justin Bieber! It was pure luck

for me I reckon, right place at the right time, and my god am I the happiest person in the world right

now!” Not only is Maya spreading her name in her homecountry the USA, her name is also

featuringin UK line ups for festivals in 2014, which could only mean one thing? “I am preparing for

my touryeah. It’s all a bit exclusive at the moment, but I’m planning to hit the UK first after the USA

of course – I will let you know that. Theyare my next target [laughs] I have always loved the UK and

to get my name big there would beanother dream come true!” Aside from her angelic voice that has

seemed to capture the whole ofAmerica, her sense of style has also inspired many people already,

we spy a few copycats on thecarpet! As she sits in front of me dressed head to toe in chic, the

conversation of fashion crops uprather a lot. “I wouldn’t say I’m a fashion icon! [Blushes red] that

would be nice though. I do lovefashion, what girl doesn’t? But yeah maybe in a year or so when my

career is notso chaotic I would definitely think about bringing out a fashion line. My weakness is

shoes; my shoecloset is bigger than my clothes closet! You name a shoe, and my closet will own it!”

Now, trailing slightly off the topic of music and fashion, I’m not the only one who’s asking questions

about the ‘cosying’ on the carpet with a certain Justin Timberlake. We’ve all seen the dreamy photos

of the two getting on pretty well, and making quite a beautiful picture at that aswell. However, my

heart slightly sunk as Maya’s response didn’t quite live up to the pictures, “No no no, nothing like

that. I didn’t know many people there and I’d met him a few times before, so he was kind of my rock

for the night.” Maybe one day there will be a rock on the finger aswell? Let’s keep our hopes up

anyway. So far Miss Rossi has the complete package – the voice, the look, (the man) and of course a

number 1 hit. Maya Rossi has created a new spark in the music industry and enlightened everyone

being lucky enough to hear her dazzling voice. I can tell already we haven’t seen the best of

Mayayet, and she has nothing but much more to come!
