DESCRIPTION

In onze succesreeks 'The bumpy road of a startup' brengt Hendrik Dacquin zijn verhaal als co-founder van Small Town Heroes. Hendrik Dacquin onderzoekt al meer dan tien jaar de mogelijkheden van interactieve televisie. Bij Alcatel-Lucent ontwikkelde hij vroege prototypes van sociale en participatieve tv. In 2008 begon Hendrik te werken voor het VRT-medialab, de onderzoeksinstelling voor de Vlaamse broadcast-industrie. Hij probeerde een brug te slaan tussen creatieve tv-producers en (web)developers. In 2010 begon hij te werken aan de eerste tweedeschermapplicaties. Met de introductie van tablets en de immense groei van smartphones werd zijn droom om het web te blenden met televisie werkelijkheid. In februari 2012 richtte Hendrik, samen met Andries De Reyghere, het bedrijf Small Town Heroes op, een start-up die interactieve applicaties koppelt aan tv-programma's. O ja, en Hendrik houdt van oude blues muziek, Tripel Karmeliet, goeie verhalen, usability en design. Waar? Op 't Schoonste Verdiep met zicht over 't Stad = Panoramazaal op de 26e verdieping van de KBC-Toren, Schoenmarkt 35, Antwerpen.
