SPONSOR ACOMPANION DOGFOR VETERANSWITH PTSD

Post-traumatic stress disorder plagues countless veterans, and manycontinue to deal with the ghosts of horrors they witness during their years in

the service. Organizations such as Puppies Behind Bars is one in whichprisoners train companion dogs for veterans with PTSD. Also, the VA offers

access to PTSD Coach Online.

KEEP VETERANSOFF THE STREETSRather than allowing veterans fall victim to homelessness after years

of exhausting themselves on the battlefield. The Department ofVeterans Affairs' Stand Down program was created so that food,

shelter, health screenings, and resources are made available to bothunemployed and homeless veterans.

SEND A CAREPACKAGE OR ALETTER

Send a letter or a care package to needy or isolatedveterans. Operation Gratitude has issued more than 1.5

million individually addressed care packages toindividuals withing the military community.

HELP THEM TAKEFLIGHTThe Honor Flight Network has helped veterans make the freepilgrimage to the World War II Memorial on the National Mallin Washington. The public can support veterans by acting asvolunteers and escorting vets to the memorial. Also, Honor

Flight helps to transport vets who are terminally-ill.

Veterans History Project helps to collect the importantstories of veterans so that its placed in the Library of

Congress. The Library of Congress is always listening forthe incredible words that these individuals want to
