An enthusiastic, effective Friend of Rotary joins for the:

S Feeling of accomplishment

S Support existing project chairs with additional help
S Begin generating discussion around new ideas
S Network existing members with new parts of the
community
S Provide meaningful mentoring, and social opportunities

S No cost to club
S Only use free adverts, and free directory

Times and Dates
Over a total of 6 weeks:
S Starts within 2 weeks of approval
S Finished within 4 weeks of approval
S 3 to 6 hours in the first week by Membership
S 2 to 4 hours per week, following week by Membership
S 1 to 2 hours per week by Chairs
S EWA Rotary Project Chairs set their own availability

Chairs provide draft
“job descriptions” summarising:
S The benefits to the volunteer
S Time expectations from the volunteer
S An online project format
What’s Needed
The Board and Leadership provide to
Membership, if required:
S ABN, insurance, or details to
register E-WA Rotary on a directory
S A champion from the sponsor club, where
our provisional status may limit E-WA from
listing
Review and Measure
At 3 weeks, and 6 weeks Membership provides current
Members, Board, and Leadership with a:
S Count of the number of enquiries
S Count of the number of active volunteers
S Summary of the feedback from Project Chairs
S Insights from managers of job listings, or volunteer hubs
Future
Adapt future Friends of Rotary volunteer recruitment:
S Increase the number of people who want to give a small, fixed
amount of time
S Diversify and include a broader range of people in activities
S Grow the social sharing, and online presence of E-WA Rotary
S Innovate online activities that shape “Rotary for the 22nd
Century”
