This highly prized and unusual timber is created by the action of the Beef Steak Fungus on an oak tree. This does not harm the timber at all but stains it in a wonderful, random myriad of shapes and patterns.

This solid oak flooring is available in widths from 120mm to 200mm subject to availability.

Stasis oak flooring

Carefully heated in an inert atmosphere using a patented process this timber exhibits vastly improved stability and is the only solid floor suitable for under-floor heating.

When a finish is applied this solid oak flooring displays an incredible depth of colour and tone ranging from dark honey brown to a rich dark chocolate.

Consider a stasis oak floor for a bathroom to contrast with white fittings. The installations we've seen are breathtaking.

Tradition Aged oak flooring

It took two years to perfect this solid oak floor which is now regarded as the most authentic aged and distressed oak flooring available.

First we take a perfectly machined rustic grade solid oak floor, it is then passed through our custom-made distresser three times which imparts a completely random series of indentations on the oak surface and edges.

Stage two is brushing, high-speed abrasive nylon brushes remove any sharp edges and impart a slightly weather-beaten effect to the oak. Any knots and splits in the oak can be left open or filled and sanded if desired.

The final stage before pre-finishing is fuming. This is done using ammonia in a sealed chamber, this gives the oak flooring a colour that would normally take hundreds of years to achieve.

Manufactured from carefully selected kiln-dried character grade oak it can also be fumed and pre-finished to give an authentic aged appearance.

Engineered oak flooring

This superb quality, single, wide plank floor has a 6mm layer of solid oak bonded onto quality birch ply for stability.

Supplied as a Classic grade, it displays a pleasing scattering of knots and a warm honey colour which darkens slowly with age.

Knots filled and pre-sanded as standard, ready for oiling or lacquering on site, or we can finish with two coats of hardwax oil for that instant WOW factor.
