Jewellery Making Ideas about a Big Chunky

Necklace with Threads and Chains

This jewellery making idea actually comes from an online

jewellery making magazine; as I really love the hot

pink-orange-crash combination of braiding & chunky chain,

I did my own one. However, this is a slightly different big

chunky necklace.

Materials and tools:

1mm pink nylon thread

1mm aqua nylon thread

1mm yellow nylon thread

Acrylic chunky chain

Lobster clasp

Jump rings

Round nose pliers

Flat nose pliers

Scissors

Instructions:

Step 1: Make 4-strand-braiding

1st, cut 16 pieces of threads, 8 for pin, 8 for aqua and all

measure 85cm;

2nd, tie an overhand knot on one end of the threads and

group them by colors;

3rd, categorize 4 into one strand, each color gets 2

strands and arrange the 4 strands into the order as

picture shows;

4th, braid 4-strand-braiding by bringing rightmost strand

to center firstly and leftmost one secondly;

5th, continue braiding until the length reaches 30cm or so;
