How to Install an LED Light Bar on the

Rear of a Truck

LED light bars for trucks attach near the hinge of the tailgate and provide an extra level of

nighttime safety. These light bars are available in a programmable bar fashion and as a

standard series of LED lights. Most of the strips are powered via the truck's hitch receiver

plug. The LED bar strips are flexible and signal when the truck signal bar is turned. The light

bar also will show brake and reverse lights.

Instructions

1 . Unroll the flexible LED light bar and place it just under the tailgate hitch where it will not

be pinched or broken when the tailgate is lowered.

2. Peel the adhesive strip off the back of the LED light bar. Then, press the light bar into

position. Grab hold of the center wire plug adapter coming out of the LED bar strip.

3. Plug the LED bar strip plug into the truck's hitch wire plug. This plug is located just next to

the tow hitch receiver under the rear bumper.

4. Test the LED light bar by starting the truck and turning the lights on. Shift the truck into

reverse to test the reverse LED lights. Use the turn signals to verify that the light bar is

signaling properly.
