Derived from Latin Word “Magnes” meaning Magnet. Discovered by “Scheele” and isolated by “Gahn” In 1774. Manganese in form of black ore was used by pre historic cave
painters in France around 30,000 years ago.

• It is hard, brittle silvery Metal.• Form 0.09% of the Earth’s crust.• 5th Most abundant element.• Boiling point: 2061˚C.• Melting point: 1246˚C.
