Fab·ri·ca·tion the action or process of manufacturing or inventing something.

1.Plaster casting• Casting by POP, water: plaster = 1:2• Casted onto the right hand and left hand

each on both subjects.

2.Modification• Positive and negative model• Measured from the head of ulnar

Before Thermoforming…- Cutting and Gliding.( For Socket )

3. Thermoforming

a manufacturing process where a plastic sheet is heated to a specific temperature, for the formation of a particular shape. It is then trimmed to create a usable product.

- Specific temperature 170- 185 Degree Celsius, for polypropylene plastic.

First cut and then Grind the plastic by using Sanding drum and felt cone. ( For the board )

4. Gliding

6. Fastening and finishing- Usage of contact adhesive.- Knots and fasteners.

Attach the angle bracket to the socket, by fasteners and knots.

Problems and Solutions, during fabrication process.

Mold and cast two arms of the same person/subject, instead of molding one side of arm ; for easy work process.

In order to make this specific DIY project model faster and easier ; we should make use of a cone or cylindrical shaped object for the arm, instead of using measurements of human arm. This could have saved a lot of time.

Recommendation for future work…
