HOW  TO  RAISE?

What raising is and how it benefits you and also our IGC commission?

I hope I don 't need to tell you, if required, feel free

to ask! :P

How to raise?

One big question, right now in your mind will be how can we raise when we are not in Delhi or exams coming just next week. I say why not to raise now. There is a solution for everything if you think carefully. For people not in town, can fix appointments for others. For people having exams next week can go crazy for appointments this week. If you come up with more problems that you don't know how to face, please feel free to ask. ALWAYS ASK!

"He who asks a question is a fool for five minutes; he who does not ask a question remains a fool forever."

   • Fixing appointments/Cold calling:

 1) Number of calls you made really doesn't matter,

even if its 200 calls per day. Number of appointments fixed, that matters. It’s a bitter truth. So best we can do is become pro in cold calling and decrease this ratio.

2) Try to fix appointments with those NGO who are in the same locality or near to each other so that you

can save more time in travelling and have maximum appointments in a day.

3) Market research: Fix appointments with the NGO who have a good background and can pay us raise fee.

4) Following issues are first priority to raise: a. Conserve (Environmental issue) b. Footprints (Child education or

child rights) c. Healthcare (Medical) d. Genesis (HIV AIDS)

 • How to sell:

1) Costumers want to feel wanted! When you go for

the appointment, after basic introduction, talk about the NGO, ask about their projects running, their impact till now and get to know them better. Develop relationships with them.

2) Be COOL: Act cool during the appointment i.e. be

CONFIDENT, make customer feel like they needs our product, convince the customer our product has value (which really has).

 • Presentation + Pitch:

1) Start your appointment with telling them what is

AIESEC.

2) Then ask about the NGO, what does it do, its projects etc.

3) Relate it with AIESEC, our objectives and mission.

Page 3: Raising Guide

4) Mention about our presently running projects and our renowned partners like Teach for India, Wingreen, Healthcare Afflatus, Vidhya and Child, Earth Saviors, Shiv Nadar etc

5) Discuss project activities and then show our job questionnaire and discuss more about it.

6) Show them the previous case studies of our interns. And most IMPORTANT, make them realise how AIESEC partnership will benefit them!! It is as follows:

 i. The impact they made, we increase its outreach! ii. Volunteers that we provide are willingly travelling 7

seas to India, paying for their air travel, transportation and accommodation and helping us in social issues! Hence it’s the right intent of volunteers that we provide.

iii. More sponsors! Understand this point very clearly, we don't provide them sponsors but as they partner with a global organisation they get recognized hence their market visibility increases.

iv. If they are running any campaigns, we provide them help also.

v. We have huge events like Balakalkaar in which their NGOs could engage.

  TIPS:

ü Look presentable ü Be honest, don't oversell ü Be prepared before going for an appointment ü Know your product well. ü Make a sales pitch before you go ü Go as not to sell but as they want to buy!!
