MGT427: Final Report and Presentation Instructions
Assignment: To plan, design, deliver, and evaluate an original training program using HRM strategy.
Groups with maximum number of four/five students will be formed in class. You will have the advantage to form your own group. I will assign students to a group, only when they are unable to form their own group ‐‐‐ Already Formed! This group project assignment is a mandatory task in order to successfully complete this course.
Each group will select its own topic for the original training program. The topic should be one in which the group members have considerable interest (or expertise). Program topics due: Already submitted in Class.
Using Chapter 09 on Needs Assessment as a guide, each group will conduct a needs assessment for its proposed training program. This should include both a person and a task analysis. Make clear in your Training Proposal what interview questions, questionnaires, etc. your group used. Based on your needs assessment and any assumptions you may need to make, develop specific training objectives. Afterwards, develop a detailed Training Proposal (Project Plan). Final Report is due on Wednesday, April 01 within the first 15 minutes in class.
Your report should include the following sections:

Each group will receive feedback from the instructor on their Project Plan. Please refer to office hours (specified for MGT427 Students) to address your general concerns or any further assistance needed to successfully complete this mandatory task. Based upon the feedback, the groups should then finalize their training program, class presentation, and Final Report (reflection). Class presentations will be made on Sunday, April 05. Presentations should review the group’s efforts to develop and evaluate the training program, and must include some demonstration of the training program to the class (you may only have time to present a section or module of the training to the class). Final Reports (reflection) for all groups are due on Wednesday, April 01; and must include all information on your needs assessment (task analysis), design, implementation, and evaluation plans.
Since cooperation within the groups will be critical to the success of each project, students who do notcooperate or contribute their fair share of effort in the total project (as judged by the instructor and their peers) risk having their grade lowered. You are expected to work together to accomplish the assigned tasks. Changes in the groups will only be made in unusual circumstances (as determined by the instructor) ‐‐‐ Can’t be done at this stage now.
LATE REPORTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AT ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. IF YOU FAIL TO SHOW UP FOR YOUR PRESENTATION YOU WILL GET ZERO POINT. YOUR GROUP WILL START WITHOUT

All groups must submit the report on that specified scheduled date and time in both sections. For this class hard copy is due on Wednesday, April 01 within the first 15 minutes in
class. All students must be present in class for the presentations and lectures during the last four
classes in this term.
I will deduct .5% for any missed classes or unauthorized absence for the last four classes, plus marks deduction from your presentation and report.
You are strongly encouraged to ask questions right after each group presents their report!
As mentioned earlier ‐ Your report (hard copy) must be submitted in class on the due date Wednesday, April 01, 2015 within the first 15 minutes in class and your group members must be present at that
time. Your electronic copy of the original report must be submitted by e‐mail attachment on the same day, Wednesday, April 01 by 11:59 p.m., along with the e‐mails (MAKE SURE TO CC: THOSE AS A SIGN OF ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF GROUP EFFORT) of your group members. One group member should take the responsibility to send me the original report by e‐mail with attachment and (cc:) the same e‐mail to the rest of the group member’s e‐mail addresses, so I will know that it is a group production. You have to inform me about any mitigating circumstances ahead of the report due date, Wednesday, April 01‐‐‐ NO EXCUSES WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR THIS TASK!!! You will receive a ‘0’ Mark if you fail to follow the guidelines and instructions for this task. You are encouraged to ask questions to avoid any kind of confusion and it is your own responsibility as a mature student.
You must submit a hard copy of the final report on Wednesday, April 01 within the first 15 minutes in class and also e‐mail me the soft/electronic copy of the report at [email protected] on Wednesday, April 01 by 11:59 p.m., same day, just to check for your original work. Please (cc:) the same e‐mail to other group members at the same time. I am repeating this statement again just to show the importance!
There is a dress code for the presentation. I have discussed it several time in class ‐‐‐ dress smart and business attire.
Each group will present their report in front of the class for 15‐20 minutes. I will select groups by lottery and the groups will present according to their serial number, no exceptions. Each member must present ‐‐‐ be aware that this is your final presentation and your grade for this course heavily depends on your performance on this assigned task. You are allowed to prepare PowerPoint Slides for this presentation or you may use note cards to present your part of the report. However, you are not allowed to bring the whole report and just read from the document. You will receive negative marks for doing so. You should practice, maintain eye contact with the audience and be prepared to answer questions from the audience. Any kind of negative attitude will result in marks deduction for each individual presentation. Your group members should not suffer due to your individual performance or attitude. You will be marked individually for your part of the presentation and as a group for your contribution for the report. I will investigate about your involvement and contribution to complete the overall task successfully. Group members who fail to do their part of the task will be marked negatively and it will give a negative impression on your work performance to me and to your fellow classmates.
I expect quality work from you not the quantity (i.e. more words, pages, designs, etc.). I hope that you all will take this task seriously and try to do your best!
There is obviously no easy way of saying in advance what does an ‘A’ grade report cover. Your report will be graded against the quality of other group reports. This is your final report for this course and final presentation. It should cover all the main points in the body of the report. Plus, there is a spark about the writing as well as evidence of genuine strategic insight from the group members. Therefore, I have very high expectations!
Please read the guidelines stated earlier in this document carefully and follow the instructions about report formatting and structure, marks deduction criteria, etc. This is a report that should be clearly written with good graphics and supporting materials, as relevant. You need to use spiral binding for the final report (hard copy), but nothing too expensive and too fancy. I should be proud to show your report to a professor or other members in our BBA Department. As said before in the above statements, please feel free to ask question for further clarifications and plan accordingly to successfully complete this task!
