APPRENTICES Must have a contract of employment for the length of training Must be employed for a minimum of 30 hours per week Must be paid a minimum hourly rate of £2.73 ph but average apprentice
earns c£140pw Training fully funded by the Government for 16-18 year olds Employers must make a 50% contribution to training costs for 19-14 year
olds 40% of training cost is funded for apprentices aged 25+ Typically a Level 2 Apprenticeship will take 14 – 24 months to complete No guarantee of employment upon completion
