“Desk/Associate” Costs

• Needed to determine minimum production necessary from each sales person in order to “break even”

• Desk cost = annual expense of operation*

number of available desks**

* = exclusive of commissions paid on sales

** = whether occupied or not

• Per associate cost used when some or all salespeople are home officed; divide by # salespeople
