WHAT IS STRESS ?Stress typically describes a negative condition that can have an impact on an organism's mental and physical well-being.

WORK STRESS ..Also known as Occupational Stress .Stress is not an illness – it is a state. However, if stress becomes too excessive and prolonged, mental and physical illness may develop.

CAUSES OF WORK STRESS ..

- Work overload.- Time pressures.- Poor quality of supervision.- Insecure job climate.- Lack of personal control.- Inadequate authority to match responsibilities.- Differences between company and employee values.

SOME OF THE EFFECTS OF STRESS ON EMPLOYEES:

     •    Weight gain.      •    Irritability.     •    Headaches/Migraines.      •    Sleep problems.

DIAGNOSIS OF WORK STRESS :• Remember that some days will be more stressful

than others so it’s important not to overreact to small changes in your behavior.

• Don't be afraid to ask your Doctor or your company for help or advice if you’re feeling stressed because of work.

• Your Doctor will usually be able to recognize the symptoms of stress and give you advice about how to deal with it.

(NIOSH) .The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) is the U.S. federal agency that conducts research and makes recommendations to prevent worker injury and illness. It’s August, 2013 report compiles the results of several recent surveys on stress at work:

Northwestern National Life – 40 percent of workers say their job is “very or extremely stressful.” Families and Work Institute – 26 percent of workers report that they are “often or very often burned out or stressed by their work.” Princeton Survey Research Associates – 75 percent of employees believe that workers have more on-the-job stress than a generation ago. Yale University – 29 percent of workers say they feel “quite a bit or extremely stressed at work.”
