Mise en scene• Starts off showing the audience an abandoned building with graffiti all over, no windows no

doors just the frame of the building suggesting its been stripped of everything meaning no

identity and stripped of it’s previous life.

• Cuts off to low key lighting, this is the first appearance of the artist.

• This music video alternates between two setting/ locations. One is an empty space with the

abandoned building which is always shown in high key lighting and a rainforest type setting

that is much more confined and is always shown in low key lighting.

• This place is implied to be dirty due to the long shot of the empty bottle on the shore.

• Narrative shows deeper meaning, this is shown through the two alternating settings. This is to be

called Amplification, this is because the artist is playing a role within this narrative and gives it a

deeper meaning and amplifies the lyrics.

Cinematography

• Profile of artist singing, showing the angles of the artist face.

• Tracking shot of artist singing, whilst a low zoom in to show more of the artist

features.

• Close up of the back of a persons neck. This could suggest hidden identity and

there's sweat shown also.

• A lot of the artist shown is in close ups. This could be to show the artist isn’t afraid

to show their identity and features.

Editing• Unconventional pace. The pace in which the video is

edited in wasn’t as fast as other videos. This could be to

show the audience the narrative.
