DESCRIPTION
As stated in the agile manifesto we aim to achieve great results, among other things, by focusing on people and how they interact with each other. Lately in the agile community, particularly in ALE, we’ve focusing very much on developing and taking care of human mind and spirit. That is and awesome thing that we’re doing and makes a big difference with traditional methods. But I’d like to take it further, what about our bodies? “Mens sana in corpore sano” (A sound mind in a healthy body) Can we be build high performance teams with unhealthy people? Can you be the best version of yourself at work having backpain? I guess no. I’m very much into a healthy way of living (nutrition, sports, no drugs etc.) as I believe that to give the best of myself and to be energetic and inspiring at work I have to be healthy and feel good. I believe that taking care of yourself does make a difference and we should coach and help our teams taking care of their bodies. With this talk I’d like to stimulate the Agile community to explore this, so as Agile coaches, scrum masters or agile team members we can start also caring about each other health and having tools to do so as I sometimes do. I’ll be also giving some quick tips about helping your co-workers having a better posture at work, better nutrition and identifying possible heath problems by understanding skiing reaction. Can you imagine a future where we’ll be improving nutrition habits in retrospectives? Can you imagine yourself as an Agile coach helping a product owner to quit smoking? I do.
