What Does the Rest of the World Think?

We live in a connected world. At any minute of the day, we can talk to people on all four corners of the world. It is important that we connect on a global level, because as soon as we come to know each other as similar, the sooner we can put the fighting behind us and get on with advancing the human race. Being able to connect is a fantastic feature of the modern world, and probably, the best part comes from understanding different points of view; how different people interpret the world. We are going to explore this issue in more depth.

How We Connect We can do this by telephone, but most of us choose to connect online, and this is unsurprising, given that the internet allows instant contact. The telephone signals travel at the speed of sound340.29 miles per second. That is incredibly quick, and unsurprisingly, means that we often have a delay in signal the further away we are in the world. For example, talking to someone on the other side of the world, e.g. UK to Australia, gives us a few seconds of delay between speech. When the technology was new, that was incredible, but with the internet, not so much. Online information travels at the speed of light 299 792 458 miles per second. The circumference of the world is 24, 901 miles. This means that internet signals can travel around the world 12,039 times a second. Sure, there may be a delay in the signal, but it is so infinitesimally small that it isimperceptible to the human mind. There are other delays that happen, for example, part of the signal may be sent via satellite. However, the internet is the place where we connect the most, and in real-time. What Does the Rest of the World Think? One of the best things about the internet is our ability to find out what other people think, butin the context of anonymity. We have never had the technology to ask people whatever questions we want with complete privacy. Every single one of us has questions about what other people think and do. For example, you may have a nightmare that your teeth are falling out, but are too embarrassed to tell anyone. You can just go online and ask other people if they understand what you mean. You can do this without telling people who you are, and people can answer without telling you who they are. This eliminates much of the social embarrassment that people have over certain issues. Clearly, we chose a rather benign example, but anything you have wondered you can ask in safety. Website such as http://www.likepoll.com/ offer internet users a platform to ask their questions. At Likepoll, you can create your own poll. You can ask questions about any subject and find out what your fellow internet users think. You can also browse other people’s opinion polls so that they can know your opinion. All of this is anonymous, of course, which really helps to understand what people

are really thinking. Likepoll provides us with a platform for asking delicate and sensitive questions that we may be too embarrassed to ask in real life. So, if you want to know what the rest of the world thinks, there is no greater opportunity to this than to create your own poll. If you would like to know more, then please visit http://www.likepoll.com/.
