1. Malaysia – parliamentary democracy – constitutional monarchy

2. DYMM = paramount ruler=Highest Commander of Armed Forces – Federal Constitution (Pix of King)

3. Administrative power = 3 parts =Legislative,Judiciary n Executive

4.Malaysia = Federation of states

5. State surrenders power – financial,defense,education,foreign affair etc

6. State retains-rights over land,mineral matters and local govt.

Legislative authority for Federation

Wields considerable influence on life of Federation.

Enjoyed by each House and individual members of Parliament

Each House empowered to regulate own procedure and has exclusive control over its own proceedings

Each House can punish for breaches of priviliege or “contempt” of House

1.Malaysia’s sy. Of democracy = 3 main bodies in admin sy.

2.They are executive, legislative and judiciary

3.We have constitutional monarchy.

4.Rights of rulers are specified in Constitution.

5.Federal laws are made in Parliament-approval by DYMM

6.State level laws –approval by Sultans or YDP Negeri

7.Court =to safeguard peace and harmony of nation,independent,neutral and own

jurisdiction.

8.We practise distribution of power=sharing of power between central & state govt.

9.Election = part of democratic sy. =allows people to have official channel to voice

feelings regarding leadership of nation.

10.General election = held latest 5 years

11.Election commission = independent and non-aligned body- administers election

12.House of Representatives = representatives of people- PM is appointed among

them.

13.State level- CM or MB appointed among members of State Legislative Assembly.

14. The Senate =highest body in country and appointment of senators based on

Constitution.
