● Reed believes there is a lack of business traditions in the African American culture that directly contributes to the small number of African American business successes.

● African Americans avoid entrepreneurship it is not embraced in the community, many equate capitalism with racism.

● Young African American (and other minorities) need to be taught fundamentals of business to facilitate future economic advancement in the black community.

BSU: Black Student Union

BSU is an organization founded on the Hofstra Campus that allows African American Students, and other minorities to service the black community as well as educate students on blacks in the business world. This group is open to all races, not just minorities.
