Beginning of main story, clearly stating to follow on to the inside of the paper.

When designing the front cover of myNewspaper I wanted to challenge the traditional conventions and forms which are used on the Oxford Mail’s front page, with my own style when planning the format in comparison to looking at the Oxford Mail for example. The reason behind my format is I’m trying to appeal to a younger audience In the sense to educate the younger generationTo buying and reading the newspaper.

Creating a similar idea withThe photo’s but having a wideRange in comparison to the One main image in the Oxford Mail

When looking at the forms and conventions of the second page of my newspaper in comparison to the Oxford Mail, keeping a similar style of layout with the index listing any key aspects which may wanted to be known. When selecting the stories to be on the second page I wanted to convey the idea of keeping aimed to a young target audience of 16-28. Choosing the story about the free running who raised so much money for Scope to..., I didn’t want to capture just a still image, which is why there is a range of photos showing different free running techniques. When looking at the format in which I created the idea of inverted selection, where in the free running story there is Black copy and in the Game show story there is White copy with the opposite backgrounds.

Slogan

When design my poster for newspaper, I kept the font the same on the newspaper, to keep a continues flow. By adding the front cover of newspaper to show the audience the newspaper. Trying to keep the poster as basic as it needs to be but still to have an eye catching aspect to it. Keeping the colour scheme the same through out ever part of the production allowing for automatically noticing the colour scheme to be a link allowing the audience to think of ‘Whiting Oxford’ when seeing, the faded blue background.

By keeping the masthead to stand out at the top of the page, Creating the logo stand out in a way, where the star represents the idea of Oxford being the city which stands out from the rest.

Showing off the product is the key concept which is need to be stuck to, showing off what you need to look for, to keep the poster eye catching so you are drawn to seeing the front page automatically.

Keeping the slogan very simple, when saying ‘Your’ the idea to create the paper as being design specifically for you.

Using forms and ConventionsHyperlink – Local News

When looking at my website design I feel I have kept to the forms and conventions. Starting off looking at the idea of the adverts. As you open the hyperlink and start at the top, there open up with an advert which stands out, so when selecting my what I wanted to create a news story about it was simple to choose a non smoking advert being one of the main advert. As you look down the page I wanted to keep the masthead in the same style to what I did on the Newspaper. Where with my tool bar across the top of the page I have it in line with my masthead, creating a wide range of tabs allowing you to have a wide view of the website. When looking how the news stories are lead out it has similar style to the Oxford Mail, in the sense of being divided down into two columns. In comparison to Oxford Mail and the forms and conventions in which it follows I decided to create a different spine on it, by using a black under layer to really help bring the news stories to be much more eye catching. By keeping a similar layout through out allowing the audience to recognise straight away.
