EMAP- Introduction

Emap Limited is a British media company, specialising in the production of business-to-business magazines, and the organisation of business events and conferences. The company was once a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index but is now owned by Apax and Guardian Media Group.

EMAP eventually became a PLC in the late 1970s under the guidance of the extremely successful partnership of Sir Robin Miller and David Arculus.

Immediate media have just established- taking over BBC magazines. With 750 staff in London and Bristol, Immediate Media Co publishes 34 websites and 50 magazines, with over 1 million subscribers, a brand reach of 11 million UK consumers.

Bauer- Intro

Bauer Media Group is a large German publishing company based in Hamburg, which operates in 15 countries worldwide. Since the company was founded in 1875, it has been privately-owned and under management by the Bauer family. It was formerly called Heinrich Bauer Verlag KG, abbreviated to HBV and usually shortened to H. Bauer.

Worldwide circulation of Bauer Media Group's magazine titles amounts to 38 million magazines a week.
